you pc may be slow due to virus. So use good anti-virus. and also attach one extra RAM

slow startup depends on two major factor first type of processor , second one is antivirus, otherwise xp start up is not slow.

There are number of reason for system to slow up.It many be due to virus that affected your system and may be that's why your system startup slow.You have to install anti-virus in your system and update your pc up-to-date.

First of all increase your virtual memory from your computer properties. Try with extra RAM to solve this issue.
